ConnCAN Builds Teacher and Administrator Contract Databases

There is nothing more important to our students’ educations than the teachers and leaders in our schools. The collective bargaining agreements that define the scope of their employment are key drivers for policy and practice.

That’s why, over the last two weeks, ConnCAN has released two impressive online databases analyzing district teacher and administrator contracts. Now, not only do you have easily searchable access to every district’s collective bargaining agreement, but you can also easily compare them between districts. This is a user-friendly resource for teachers, parents, policymakers, and stakeholders.

According to ConnCAN’s press release last week, since the first version of the Teacher Contract Database was released last year, more than fifty districts have negotiated new contracts. A second press release today announces that the Administrator Database a is the first of its kind.

In this year’s version, you can easily access individual contracts, or compare up to four contracts in a cleanly laid out table. The table breaks out important pieces of information, such as:

• Number of schools and teachers/administrators in the district;
• Number of work days;
• Number of work days without students;
• Length of work day;
• Class size limits;
• Salary, broken out by education level;
• Additional compensation and benefits; and
• More!
